You have precious memories, events, special times that have been captured - which is reflect important moments or times in yours and loved ones lives.  In considering this, an important factor to consider is that VHS Video tapes age and detiorate in quality of both picture and sound and can become generally "fuzzy."  This can occur over several years of just storage and not use.  Factors such as temperature, humidity, and playing time play into the degredation of quality.  Extensive playing of tapes actually wears away the magnetic surface to which your memories are captured!

 
Why use DVD (Digital Video Discs)?
DVD's have become the number one source for audio/video media.  DVD is the new generation of DIGITAL optical disc storage technology and is essentially a bigger, faster CD that holds video and audio in a much more vibrant manner and is vastly superior to a consumer VHS video tape.  Each disc is capable of holding approximately 2 hours each, and double sided discs can hold much more.  DVD's also have improved capabilities not available to VHS Video Cassette Players such as:  Instant rewind and fast-forward, Instant place finders, durability (no wear from playing), not suseptible to magnetic fields, and they are extremely compact!  What's more, they offer a lifetime of reliability.


What is the Process and How Long does it Take?
State of the art equipment is utilized in the transfer of your VHS tape(s) and is captured to a large capacity hard drive first.  Once this capture is finished, a digital reproduction of your memories are produced in the form of an MPEG file.  This process uses large amounts of computer power/memory to compress the video to burn the project to your new DVD.  This process is quality checked throughout both the capture phase, and final burn to assure the highest level of integrity and quality.
